Folk Supergroup I’m With Her Confirms Long-Awaited 2nd Album & 2025 Tour Dates

Folk supergroup I’m With Her announced their return with the release of their sophomore album, Wild And Clear And Blue, on May 9 via Rounder Records. The trio of Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins confirmed an extensive tour in support of the pending album, which features the newly shared lead single, “Ancient Light.”

I’m With Her’s debut album, the Grammy Award-nominated See You Around, came out in 2018. The trio recorded the 11-song follow-up with multi-instrumentalist producer Josh Kaufman of Bonny Light Horseman who along with drummer JT Bates also contributed to the album. Sessions were held in New York at The Outlier Inn in the Catskills and at The Clubhouse in Rhinebeck.

“When we write together it’s almost like we’re a three-headed creature—there’s never any need to take ownership of ideas, and always an ease of letting go when something isn’t working,” O’Donovan explained.

“Sometimes in the studio songs end up losing a bit of their sparkle, but with this record everything kept tumbling forward in a very natural, positive way,” Watkins said.

“Because we’ve played together so much at this point, we have a much stronger sense of what we’re capable of creating together,” Jarosz stated. “We wanted to be open to anything on this record, and give ourselves more space for the solo sections to really breathe.”

Jarosz sings lead on “Ancient Light” alongside fiddle and cello played by Watkins. I’m With Her issued the statement below regarding the single:

“We started playing around with this riff in a Silverlake bungalow in October of 2022. We were still at the beginning of writing this album, and as these images of joyful melancholy floated towards us, we found ourselves reaching for them in a free-flowing way that felt wholly new to us, yet completely natural. This song is a journey, and (producer) Josh Kaufman encouraged us to open the song up and let it breathe. ‘Ancient Light’ sets the tone for the entire album, communing with our past and future selves.”

I’m With Her will tour extensively across North America throughout 2025. The journey begins at MerleFest in Wilkesboro (North Carolina) on April 25 before heading to Europe for shows in Amsterdam on May 26 and London on May 29.

North America dates begin in June with Midwest performances including St. Louis on June 5 and Chicago on June 13, followed by an appearance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 19.

In July, I’m With Her will co-headline with Iron & Wine for multiple dates across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, starting in Interlochen (Michigan) on July 10. The summer portion concludes with an appearance at Newport Folk Festival on July 26.

After a brief break, the tour resumes in September with stops throughout the South and Southwest before an October West Coast run featuring shows in San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland. Mountain region performances follow in Jackson (Wyoming), Aspen, and Denver.

The final leg includes November dates in Buffalo, Toronto, Princeton (New Jersey), and Boston, highlighted by a performance at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on November 11. The tour concludes with shows in Charleston (South Carolina), Atlanta and Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on November 16.

Fan pre-sale tickets go on sale on Wednesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. local venue time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. local.
