Bay Area jamgrass act Hot Buttered Rum will headline the Fall Benefit Concert for Bread & Roses this Friday, November 18 at the Delancey Street Foundation in San Francisco. Singer/songwriter and guitarist Jeffrey Halford will open the “Thanks & Giving” concert, while celebrated journalist and entertainer Ben Fong-Torres will emcee.

Bread & Roses puts on over 600 annual concerts for folks that are isolated from society and otherwise cannot experience live music. The non-profit organization’s goal is to present live music to bring hope, healing and joy to the community. It’s a cause close to Hot Buttered Rum’s heart. “For years, Bread & Roses has provided HBR the opportunity to give back to the Bay Area with what we do best – performance. We’ve been honored to play in special needs schools, halfway homes and outreach facilities to weave our little patch of Americana into the fabric of other folks’ day. We look forward to doing so for years to come,” HBR’s Erik Yates told JamBase.

Nat Keefe of Hot Buttered Rum added, “We’ve had some magical moments performing with Bread & Roses. Kids dancing, adults enjoying an upful moment, a good feeling in the room. As musicians we aren’t amassing fortunes to someday start a foundation, but Bread and Roses gives us the opportunity to do what we can to help others, in a fun and easy way.” Tickets for the “Thanks & Giving” benefit concert are on sale now here.
