Hogs For The Cause Cancels Friday Festivities Due To Weather

This year’s Hogs For The Cause was set to feature a diverse mix of musical acts performing as many teams compete in the High on the Hog pork cookoff at City Park’s Festival Grounds today and tomorrow in New Orleans. Sadly, due to the weather in New Orleans organizers are unable to hold today’s festivities.

An announcement from the Hogs For The Cause team reads, “The safety of our Hogs for the Cause teams, patrons, and staff is of the utmost importance. Due to the weather, we are unable to open our gates tonight. Friday tickets will grant access to the festivities on Saturday. Organizers are devising a refund and or donation to the Cause process. Visit www.hogsforthecause.org for updates. We are looking forward to a beautiful day tomorrow and can’t wait to see you as gates open at 11:00am.”

Shovels & Rope, Twiddle and Dragon Smoke were among the acts that were supposed to perform today. Tomorrow’s action includes sets from Deer Tick, Tab Benoit, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Greensky Bluegrass. The purpose of Hogs for the Cause is to provide aid and relief of those variable expenses and economic burdens which families face while their child is being treated for pediatric brain cancer.
