The Hip Snacks will release their sophomore album, Out On A Limb, on April 24. The Denver-based soulful funk band previewed the record with the single, “Dessert Love.”

The Hip Snacks –- vocalist Kara Durante, bassist Ben Suarez, drummer Dylan French, keyboardist Adam Schini and guitarists Ricky Feria and Felipe Cantuaria -– again worked with Steve Avedis, who recorded their 2024 debut What Lies Ahead. The 10-song Out On A Limb was tracked during sessions held at Colorado Sound Studios.

“This time around with Steve, we had a bit more room to explore some ideas,” Durante stated. “And just feeling more confident [in the studio].”

Regarding the grooving “Dessert Love” single, Suarez shared:

“Everyone remembers their first. Their first kiss, dance, catch, goal, car, job, and house. Everyone you had those experiences with are vital parts of shaping you into a mature person you become one day, but they don’t always end up the main character or your lifelong partner.

“The love you can give and receive grows steadier over time, and your instincts shift from finding the right one for Saturday night, to being alongside the right one for Sunday afternoon.”

The Hip Snacks have several home-state shows lined up in Colorado in the coming weeks and months. Watch the “Dessert Love” music video below:
