Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson released a tribute to Eddie Van Halen, “4 Edward.” The song will appear on Wilson’s debut solo album, You And Me, set for release on May 7 via Carry On Music.
Wilson announced the guest-filled You And Me in February. The 12-track LP contains a mix of originals and covers including the title track, a tribute to Nancy’s mother, as well as Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising,” both released as singles.

Wilson now follows with her homage to friend Eddie Van Halen, who sadly died last year. Nancy spoke about “4 Edward” in a statement. Read her words below:
When Heart toured with Van Halen I asked Eddie why he never played acoustic guitar, his response “I don’t have one.” I gave Eddie one of mine and he immediately wrote a song on it that stole my heart. After he passed, it hit me so hard I felt it was time to pay tribute to him.
The instrumental track fittingly features Wilson on acoustic guitar and sees her utilizing techniques Eddie was famous for like harmonics along with some recognizable riffs from the Van Halen catalog. Listen to “4 Edward” below:
