Greensky Bluegrass held a “Totally Bitchin’ ’80s Halloween Party” at the Chicago Theatre on Thursday night. The third such celebration held by the band once again featured plenty of covers of songs from the 1980s.

GSBG began the party with a first set opening cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark.” The set included debuts of Madonna’s “Borderline,” Waylon Jennings’ Dukes Of Hazzard theme “Good Ol’ Boys” and Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” the last of which closed the set. Greensky also covered Genesis’ “Land of Confusion,” Dire Straits’ “Money For Nothing,” Traveling Wilburys’ “Handle With Care” and U2’s “Where The Streets Have No Name.” They also wrapped Bob Marley’s “Could You Be Loved” around a bust out of Survivor’s “Eye Of The Tiger.”

The second set began with Rod Stewart’s “Young Turks.” GSBG then surrounded The Police’s “Driven To Tears” with the debuts of Tom Petty’s “You Got Lucky” and Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone.” Greensky then laid out a sequence that began with New Grass Revival’s “Can’t Stop Now” which transitioned into the first cover of Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” since 2006.

A bust out of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” led to a return to “Don’t Worry Be Happy” and “Can’t Stop Now.” Debuts of Phish’s “Contact” and Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” came next. GSBG setlist staple, “Gumboots” by Paul Simon, followed ahead of the final debut of night, Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” Prince’s “When Doves Cry” brought an end to set two. The encore consisted of the lone original of the night, “Past My Prime.”

According to local the ABC affiliate, at approximately 11:30 p.m. a 33-year-old man fell from the third-floor balcony at the Chicago Theatre. He reportedly landed at the basement level of the venue and, according to police, suffered, “severe head trauma as well as a knee injury and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.”
