Greensky Bluegrass wrapped the first leg of their 2025 Winter Tour at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine on Sunday. GSBG and tourmates Kitchen Dwellers pulled off a seamless band swap between their respective sets.

Kitchen Dwellers closed their set with the title track to their 2024 album, Seven Devils. The performance saw members of Greensky joining in one by one beginning with dobro player Anders Beck. GSBG mandolinist Paul Hoffman followed ahead of guitarist Dave Bruzza and banjo player Michael Bont as KD members began to trickle off the stage but not before banjo player Torrin Daniels led a spacey jam.

Finally, Greensky bassist Mike Devol stepped in for KD bassist Joe Funk as GSBG headed into “Windshield.” Watch the transition below:

Following “Windshield,” Greensky continued their set with Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freight Liner Blues.” The quintet also broke out their cover of Bob Seger’s “Against the Wind.” The band last performed the title track off Seger’s 1980 album on November 16, 2023 in Memphis, according to Phantasy Tour stats, for a gap of 101 shows.

Greensky staple “All Four” also saw a recitation from Jack Kerouac’s The Scriptures of Golden Eternity. The GSBG and KD collaborations didn’t end with the band swap as all four members of the latter — Daniels, Funk, Shawn Swain and Max Davies — returned to help Greensky seal the show with the Del McCoury Band-recorded “My Love Will Not Change,” which saw the ensemble performing unplugged at the front of the stage.

Greensky Bluegrass hops back on the road in March, including a show with Kitchen Dwellers in Chicago. Find both bands’ tour routing and ticket info below.
