Greensky Bluegrass Debuts New Song & Bahamas Cover At ‘Echo Sessions’

Greensky Bluegrass assembled at Echo Mountain Recording in Asheville on Wednesday for a two-set Echo Sessions performance that was livestreamed. The band opened with a new original and fit a debut Bahamas cover within last night’s show.
Mandolinist Paul Hoffman led the group through their first ever “Until I Sing” to kick off GSBG’s return to the “stage” after four months. “What You Need” followed the debut before a run of “Hit Parade Of Love,” “Old Barns” and “All Four.” Photographer Dylan Langille stepped in for Greensky tour manager Guido Batista in adding vibraslap to “What You Need.” He then returned on tambourine for “Burn Them.” The quintet closed out the frame by pairing “Wish I Didn’t Know” and “Run Or Die.”

Producer Glenn Brown worked eerie tones into a “Before Bring Out Your Dead” second set opener that also featured Langille on gong. “Bring Out Your Dead” came next along with fan favorites “In Control,” “Can’t Stop Now” and the fitting “Casual Wednesday.” Greensky Bluegrass then debuted their cover of Bahamas’ “Waves.”
Hoffman fronted the group on “Past My Prime” ahead of “Take Cover.” Next, guitarist Dave Bruzza stepped into the spotlight on “Wings For Wheels.” Greensky Bluegrass brought the livestream concert to a close with a well-jammed “Don’t Lie.”
