Grateful Dead Lyricist Robert Hunter’s Album ‘Tiger Rose’ Set For 50th Anniversary Reissue

Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter’s 1975 solo album, Tiger Rose, will be reissued in an expanded 50th anniversary edition. Remastered from the original analog tapes, Tiger Rose (50th Anniversary Editions) features the original 10-track album along with nine previously unreleased alternate recordings of album tracks.

Tiger Rose (50th Anniversary Editions) will be released on March 28 as part of Rhino’s ongoing archival series. Hunter, who was responsible for writing the lyrics to many of the Grateful Dead’s songs – often with primary writing partner Jerry Garcia, originally released Tiger Rose in May 1975. Produced by Garcia, the guitarist also appeared on the record, with his Grateful Dead bandmates Mickey Hart and Donna Jean Godchaux.

In addition to digital formats, Tiger Rose (50th Anniversary Editions) will be issued as a 2-CD deluxe edition with liner notes by Good ‘Ol Grateful Deadcast podcast host Jesse Jarnow, as well as a 1LP remastered edition. A special Tiger Rose Rarities vinyl edition will be released exclusively as part of Record Store Day on April 12.
