Gov’t Mule concluded a European Tour on Sunday night with help from Blackberry Smoke frontman Charlie Starr. For the second night in a row, Starr performed a batch of The Allman Brothers Band classics with the Mule. Sunday’s concert took place at Podium Victorie Kornuit Zaal in Alkmaar, Netherlands.
The quartet played two sets in Alkmaar that included an opening frame heavy on fan-favorite originals. Starr emerged at the end of Gov’t Mule’s second set for “Dreams” and “Whipping Post.” Then, Charlie returned to the stage with the band for an encore of “Melissa” featuring “Mountain Jam” within. Charlie Starr was on hand for a Monday night Blackberry Smoke performance at the same venue. The collaboration came one day after Mule and BBS swapped sit-ins on ABB gems in Raalthe, Netherlands.
