Gov’t Mule are the latest band to reveal their New Year’s plans. The band has just announced that they will play The Tower Theater in Philadelphia on December 27 and 28, followed by a pair of shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on December 30 and 31.

Soulive has been tapped to open the shows in Philadelphia. The public onsale for the Philadelphia performances will take place on October 4 at 10 a.m. ET. Onsale information for the Beacon shows will be announced soon. We look forward to seeing what theme Mule comes up with for their New Year’s Eve performance. Past themes have included “Mad Mules & Englishmen” and “Three Kings.” This year will mark the 12th in a row that Gov’t Mule has played in New York City for New Year’s Eve. In fact, the Beacon has hosted the band’s NYE celebrations every year since 2002, with the exception of 2008 when the venue was in the midst of a renovation.
