Goose released Live at Radio City Music Hall, a live album documenting the band’s two-night stand at the historic New York City venue on June 24 and 25, 2022. The collection from a run that included collaborations with Trey Anastasio and Father John Misty is available on all digital streaming platforms. A limited-edition, hand-numbers, 12-LP vinyl box set consisting of both shows on 198-gram sunburst vinyl accompanied by an 80-page coffee table photo book is currently available for pre-order.

“Playing Radio City Music Hall felt like a unifying moment for the band,” explained Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, “the center point of a phase. Everything really lined up in a serendipitous way, like we couldn’t have planned it any better. I was anticipating being nervous considering all of the history and prestige of that room, but it surprisingly ended up feeling really comfortable. I think that speaks to the magic of that venue, and moment for the band. It felt like both reaching a destination and opening a door to a new beginning at the same time.”

“There’s a weight to playing Radio City Music Hall,” added multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach. “Stepping into the room just feels like you’re entering a holy place. Our fans helped us relax on that stage and realize if we could do our thing there, then we could go anywhere.”

Both concerts were three-set affairs with the first played acoustic. Goose's Radio City Music Hall debut on June 24, 2022 saw the band work through career-spanning originals and a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Jack-A-Roe” for the unplugged frame. The second set began with lengthy versions of “Tumble” and “Borne,” the latter off Dripfield, a studio album released that day.

Dripfield producer D. James Goodwin emerged on guitar along with saxophonist Stuart Bogie and trombonist Dave Nelson to play “album versions” of “Hot Tea” and “Arrow.” The two songs along with an 18-minute “Madhuvan” opener made up the third set. Goose went it alone to cap the night with an “Animal” encore.

Goose's June 25, 2022 performance at Radio City will best be remembered for the Trey and Father John Misty guest spots. However, there was much more to the impressive concert including debuts of original “Moonrise” and Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” as well as a stripped-down “Elmeg The Wise” during the acoustic first set. The second set of the Saturday show featured an expansive “Rockdale,” both parts of “Seekers On The Ridge,” Father John Misty leading the group through his classic “I’m Writing A Novel” and more.

Anastasio emerged after the “Silver Rising” that opened the final set of the weekend. The Phish guitarist was in fine form on Dripfield’s title track and “Hungersite” from the album, the beloved “Arcadia” and takes on “Loose Ends” and “The Empress Of Organos.” Father John Misty and Trey Anastasio returned for the encore, a cover of the Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows.”
