Goose returned to Colorado over the weekend for a pair of concerts at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre near Denver. The band ended the closing stanza of their second night at Fiddler’s Green on Saturday with their debut performance of Vasudo's “Jed Stone.”

Goose — guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, keyboardist/guitarist Peter Anspach, bassist Trevor Weekz and drummer Cotter Ellis — extended “Your Direction” to open Saturday’s concert. The single from the quartet’s new studio album, Everything Must Go, slid into a lengthy rendition of the recently debuted original “Torero” before the band played “My Mind Has Been Consumed By Media” from Cotter’s time in Swimmer.

The second night at Fiddler’s Green moved forward with a standalone “A Western Sun.” Goose then left “Rockdale” uncompleted as they returned to Everything Must Go for an 18-minute “Dustin Hoffman.” The non-stop, set-closing sequence concluded with the outfit’s first cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” of 2025 and a powerful “Into The Myst.”

Goose went heavy on the jams to start their second set on Saturday with improv-laced renditions of “Big Modern!,” “fast:slow” and “Creatures.” Rick Mitarotonda fronted the subsequent cover of Nina Simone’s “Sinnerman” and led the band through the Goose debut of the Vasudo song “Jed Stone” to wrap the frame.

“Jed Stone” was debuted by Vasudo prior to two members, Rick Mitarotonda and Trevor Weekz, forming Goose in 2014. Fans have been pining for Goose to perform the simmering number and finally got their wish on Saturday night. Mitarotonda uncorked an anthemic solo within the ballad.

Goose had one more beloved favorite in store for the encore. The band returned to finish the concert with “The Empress Of Organos.”

The Everything Must Go Tour continues on Tuesday, June 10 with Goose’s first of two nights at The Factory near St. Louis. Livestreams are available via nugs.net.
