Goose pulled into Spokane, Washington, on Saturday for the fifth show of their Everything Must Go Tour. The quartet unveiled a cover of “Moby Dick” at the end of the second set at Spokane Pavilion in honor of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s birthday.

After taking “Drive” for a 13-minute spin to open the show, the Connecticut-bred band worked “All I Need” into “How It Ends.” Goose then called upon the reggae-tinged “Doc Brown” before delivering both parts of “Seekers On The Ridge.”

A take on Sergio Mendes’ “Mas Que Nada” came next and was the first cover of the night. The band comprised of guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach, bassist Trevor Weekz and drummer Cotter Ellis unleashed a nearly 20-minute “Animal” to end their first set in Spokane.

Goose shot off an extended “Arrow” that encompassed a cover of Bob Seger’s “Hollywood Nights” to kick off set two. The quartet then took the title track from their recently released album, Everything Must Go, deep. Anspach fronted the band on the subsequent “Red Bird,” the fourth and final offering of the night from the new LP.

Trevor Weekz stepped up to the mic following “Red Bird” to recite Remo Perini’s “Frogs” from the poet’s Evens And Beginnings: A Collection Of Odds And Ends book. The spoken word segment was the first “Trevor Reads Poetry” sequence since September 23, 2023.

Goose followed by launching into a ferocious version of Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick.” The instrumental from the legendary British band’s 1969 LP, Led Zeppelin II, consists mainly of a drum solo. Cotter Ellis, sporting a John Bonham t-shirt, did the late drummer proud on what would have been his 77th birthday. A “Tumble” encore brought Goose’s visit to Spokane to its conclusion.
