Goose Shares Disco-Funk Single ‘Good2B,’ Announces New Album ‘BIG MODERN!’

After weeks of cryptic teases, Goose officially confirmed they will release their sixth studio album, BIG MODERN!, on June 12 via No Coincidence Records. Out now is “Good2B,” the first taste of the prolific quartet’s third LP in 14 months.

The announcement follows two weeks of speculation prodded by a guerilla marketing campaign that climaxed on Friday when the band shared a wacky video starring actor Jake Lacy of The Office, Girls and The White Lotus fame. Lacy accompanied the band to Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, where they sat courtside at the Knicks game versuses the Bulls sporting yellow hoodies spelling out “FACE” in a nod to a key lyric component of the forthcoming record’s title track.

BIG MODERN! is described in a press materials as “Goose’s most spacious and deeply considered collection thus far, an all-encompassing musical experience that pushes their signature wit, musical ingenuity, and inimitable vision to the next level and beyond.” The 15-track follow-up to dual 2025 releases Everything Must Go and Chain Yer Dragon is said to feature material that runs the gamut from “heartland rock piano ballads” to “accented orchestral jazz interludes” to “high-octane synth rock.”

While many of the songs featured on BIG MODERN! have yet to be played live, including “Good2B,” the record does include a handful of tracks that have been performed in concert, namely the title track, “Torero” and “SALT.” With BIG MODERN!, Goose take on the chaos and overstimulation of contemporary culture, matching it head-on with their own expansive versatility and creativity.

“‘Good2B,’ and BIG MODERN! as a whole, deal with the occasional state of flow amidst absurdity,” explains Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda. “It’s doing the electric slide down the grocery aisle between the Pop-Tarts and Frosted Flakes. Hyper-convenience, hyper-connected; lost in the digital sauce and feeling pretty good about it. All while we’re left with the nagging questions: how long can this feeling last? How long can all of it last?”
