Goose headlined Jam In The Streets on Saturday in Athens, Georgia, which was the foursome’s first show of 2026. The band played before 25,000 people on Washington Street at the Jam for Cam Benefit to Fight Melanoma.

Goose’s Jam In The Streets appearance was also their first performance since the death of Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir and featured a bust out cover of “One More Saturday Night.”

Keyboardist/guitarist Peter Anspach spoke to the crowd when he and his bandmates returned for the encore following their single main set. Guitarist Rick Mitarotonda then sang lead on “One More Saturday Night,” which was a staple of the Weir-written songs performed by the Grateful Dead. Weir died on January 10 at age 78.

Goose had not taken up “One More Saturday Night” since New Year’s Eve 2021. Their Jam In The Streets rendition was the band’s 22nd known performance and first in over 300 shows.

Anspach, Mitarotonda, bassist Trevor Weekz and drummer Cotter Ellis kept the extended encore going with “The Empress Of Organos” encompassing a cover of the Animal House favorite, “Shama Lama Ding Dong.”

The band’s main set began with an expansive “Hot Tea” and saw additional lengthy improvisation across performances of “Arcadia,” “Madalena,” “Echo of a Rose,” “Thatch,” “Hungersite” and “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” Additional Jam In The Streets artists included Moon Taxi, Clay Street Unit, Slater Nalley and Jacoozy, among others.
