Goose unveiled the studio version of “Arrow” along with a video directed by Cale Potts. The track appears on Dripfield, a studio album set for release on June 24 via No Coincidence Records.
The quintet recorded the 10-track follow-up to 2021’s Shenanigans Nite Club at The ISOKON in Woodstock, New York. D. James Goodwin (Bob Weir, Kevin Morby) both produced and engineered Dripfield. “Arrow” comes on the heels of Dripfield singles “Hungersite,” “Borne” and “Dripfield.”
Goose recruited Stuart Bogie to play saxophone on “Arrow.” The song was penned by guitarist Rick Mitarotonda and was debuted live on December 21, 2019 as per El Goose.
Multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach shared the following in regards to “Arrow”:
“‘Arrow’ has always been a puzzle for us. It took us months of messing with the arrangement to finally dial it in. And then in classic ‘Arrow’ form, once we hit the studio, it changed it again. The resulting version was created the day we recorded it and was one of most exciting days for us all. During the opening hits, we all took pots and pans from the kitchen and just dropped them on the ground of the studio to create a wilder, more outrageous impact.”
