The Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania has become a home venue of sorts for Railroad Earth. Back on Friday and Saturday nights the band played the venue as part of their annual Horn O’ Plenty celebration. RRE’s 24th Sherman show featured the debut of a Bela Fleck cover, while Saturday’s 25th RRE concert at the venue saw the group dust off a beloved Grateful Dead cover.

The group kicked off Friday’s show and the run with a “Black Bear” > “Stillwater Getaway” > “Blazin’ A Trail” sequence. RRE then went with recently debuted numbers “Walk Beside Me,” “Only By The Light” and “Raven’s Child” ahead of oldie “Birds of America” and a cover of Tom Waits’ “Cold Water.” Friday’s second set featured a version of Neal Casal’s “Dandelion Wine,” classics “Drag Him Down,” “Dance Around Molly” and more including RRE’s debut version of Bela Fleck’s instrumental “Slipstream” off 1987’s Drive. The show concluded with an encore featuring Todd Sheaffer’s “Everything Comes Together.”

Saturday’s show began with fan-favorite staple “Head” ahead of the first versions of “Saddle Of The Sun” and “Peace On Earth” since March. From there, the group treated fans to recent single “Addin’ My Voice” and the classic “Mighty River” before wrapping the frame with a “Farewell To Isinglass” > “All That’s Dead May Live Again” > “Seven Story Mountain” sequence. The evening’s second set started with three songs mothballed since March: “Monkey,” “The Berkeley Flash” and “The Forecast.” More numbers recently ignored – “A Day On The Sand,” “Railroad Earth” and “Any Road” came next. The traditional “Reuben’s Train” made its return for the first time since January and was followed by a debut cover of Steve Miller Band’s “Seasons.” Colorado then gave way to “Captain Nowhere” and the beloved “Long Way To Go.” RRE encored with their first rendition of the Grateful Dead’s “Terrapin Station” since September 18, 2015.
