Full Show Audio: Twiddle Rings In 2017 At The Palace Theatre

By Scott Bernstein Jan 4, 2017 9:30 am PST

Vermont jam act Twiddle ended 2016 and began 2017 with a New Year’s Eve performance at The Palace Theatre in Albany, where Aqueous and Soule Monde were aboard as support. Members of both opening bands sat-in with Twiddle to ring in the new year. Audience recordings of Twiddle and Aqueous’s performances from New Year’s Eve have surfaced and can be streamed below.

Aqueous’s set was an improv-heavy affair featuring an “Origami” opener than spanned nearly 20 minutes. The band also worked in jam-filled versions of “Warren In The Sky” and “Kitty Chaser (Explosions)” as well as a cover of David Bowie’s “Fame.” Twiddle focused on fan favorites over the course of two sets including a “Moments” opener and both “Jamflowman” and “Frankenfoote” within the second set.

Mihali Savoulidis & Co. kicked off the second set with a countdown to 2017 followed by the traditional “Auld Lang Syne.” Then, members of Aqueous and Soule Monde emerged to add to a cover of “BBQ” by ALO. For the encore, Twiddle was joined by Mike Gantzer and Dave Loss of Aqueous for a debut cover of Derek & The Dominos’ “Layla.” Next up for Twiddle is an appearance on Jam Cruise 15.
