The Tedeschi Trucks Band capped a two-night stand on the Jersey Shore at Red Bank’s Count Basie Theatre on Wednesday night. Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and the rest of the band were joined by a pair of special guests and paid tribute to a musical icon who recently died as part of Wednesday’s show in Red Bank, New Jersey.
“Don’t Let Me Slide” was the first of seven originals the Tedeschi Trucks Band started their lone set with on Wednesday. “Laugh About It,” “Just As Strange,” “All The World,” “Right On Time” and “Don’t Know What It Means” led into an extended version of one of the group’s newest tunes, “Shame.” The Tedeschi Trucks Band then honored Muscle Shoals musician Scott Boyer, who died on Tuesday. Boyer was best known for his stint in Cowboy and the TTB covered “All My Friends,” a song Gregg Allman recorded for his 1973 solo album Laid Back. Jason Isbell recently paid tribute to Boyer on Twitter:

Amy Helm opened the show in Red Bank. The TTB’s marathon set continued with the blues classic “The Sky Is Crying,” a rendition of Neil Young’s “Alabama,” the gospel spiritual “I Wish I Knew How It Would Fee To Be Free” and a well-jammed, 20+ minute “I Want More.
When the Tedeschi Trucks Band returned to the stage for their encore on Wednesday, they were aided by Amy Helm. Amy contributed to a beautiful cover of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.” The night then came to a close with “Bound For Glory.” Tonight, the group plays the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.
