Freekbass & Stefan Lessard Team For ‘Show You The Way’ Single Featuring Adryon de León

Acclaimed bassist Freekbass‘ latest single, “Show You The Way,” comes in collaboration with Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard. The feelgood track features vocals from Adryon de Leon of Orgone.

Freekbass and Stefan Lessard had been looking for an opportunity to work together for years and that chance finally came in 2020. The pair exchanged musical ideas remotely to build the track. Freekbass handled engineering duties with Lessard providing the soulful bassline at the heart of “Show You The Way” in addition to other parts for a song that includes just bass, drums and vocals.

While Freekbass was working on the tune at his home studio, his eight-year-old daughter listened and made up her own words. The chorus comes from the lyrics Freekbass’ daughter wrote. The bassist then enlisted de León to lay down vocals at her studio in California.

Freekbass handled mixing duties and co-produced “Show You The Way” with Lessard. Doug Krebs mastered the track in Colorado.
