Acclaimed bassist Freekbass shared the official music video for “Hypnotic Woman.” The song was created in collaboration with legendary bassist Billy Sheehan.
“Hypnotic Woman” features Freekbass and Sheehan on bass along with vocals from Gary “Mudbone” Cooper and Eric Nally. The Motet keyboardist Joey Porter also contributed to the track as did The Horn Section consisting of former Turkuaz members Greg Sanderson (tenor sax), Chris Brouwers (trumpet) and Josh Schwartz (baritone sax).
Freekbass, who recently launched the Funk The World Tour, Part 1 with the Bump Assembly and Sammi Garett, tapped Angie Wilson to direct the “Hypnotic Woman” video. Shot over a two-month span between tours and sessions, the visual saw Freekbass and Mudbone Cooper film their parts in Cincinnati. Sheehan’s appearance was captured in Nashville, while the clip also includes cameos from The Horn Section.
“Wilson envisioned a strong, beautiful woman in the role of hypnotic-woman to represent the beauty all women could embrace within themselves, played by actress Stella Udeozor,” as per a press release. While Nally wasn’t available to participate in the video, his role was filled by six-year-old Jude Roark.
