Free Downloads | moe. Guest & Cover-Filled Big Lebowski Show

Upstate New York jam act moe. delivered a late night Big Lebowski-themed Halloween performance on Friday night at the Las Vegas outpost of Brooklyn Bowl. moe. debuted eight choice covers and busted out a few more with the help of special guests in Sin City. The band has posted official audio of the performance and have out up MP3s of the show as a free download.

Recap

The show started with a Big Lebowski introduction displayed on a video screen and continued with the debut a song connected with the film -Bob Dylan’s “Man In Me.” The band was assisted by special guests Bill Payne on keyboards, Jennifer Hartswick on trumpet and vocals and Natalie Cressman on trombone and vocals. Set One continued with a string of moe. originals that included “Awesome Gary,” “meat.,” “Water” and “Hector’s Pillow” before the guests returned for covers of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” and “I Am The Walrus” by The Beatles. The latter segued into “Recreational Chemistry,” which in turn gave way to a cover debut of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Run Through The Jungle.”

When moe. and their guests returned for the second set, they opened with another CCR cover -“Looking Out My Backdoor.” Up next was a bust out of Santana’s “Oye Como Va,” which had been on the shelf since Feburary 11, 2003. “Silver Sun” and the end of “meat.” were followed by a version of Kenny Rogers’ “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In).” moe. original “Downward Facing Dog” was followed by covers of “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Viva Las Vegas.” “Plane Crash” finished off the closing stanza. The marathon performance concluded after 5 a.m. with covers of The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers” (last played on June 10, 2011) and the debut of the David Bowie-penned “All The Young Dudes.”
