Frank Zappa Film Becomes Most-Funded Documentary On Kickstarter

An upcoming documentary film about the late legendary musician and composer Frank Zappa, entitled Who The F*@% Is Frank Zappa, has reached its fundraising goal on Kickstarter. Directed by Alex Winter, it has also become the most-funded documentary film on Kickstarter.

With the full backing of the Zappa Family Trust, Winter – who starred in the 1990s series of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure movies – was granted unrestricted access to Zappa’s private archives for the creation of the film. The Who the F*@% is Frank Zappa Kickstarter is open through this Friday Apr 8 at 8 p.m. PT for those still wishing to back the project.

The previous top-funded documentary film on Kickstarter was The Bill Nye Film which last year raised $859,425. Winter’s Who the F*@% is Frank Zappa Kickstarter campaign has so far reached $886,460, far exceeding the project’s $500,000 goal.
