The Flaming Lips Release ‘Assassins Of Youth’ Video

The Flaming Lips shared a video for American Head track “Assassins Of Youth.” Frontman Wayne Coyne directed the live video, which features footage from the band’s socially distanced performance in Oklahoma City that saw both the Lips and audience members encased in plastic bubbles.

Coyne broached the subject of performing such a concert in a recent interview with JamBase contributor Andrew Bruss. The Flaming Lips pulled off the feat on October 12 at Oklahoma City’s The Criterion.

“Of course, our MAIN priority (when doing the performance for the music video) was making sure everyone was safe and all the health cautions were being enforced,” Coyne wrote of the video in a statement. “I forgot about how exciting and fun and ridiculous it is to do a Flaming Lips show!!! I think the video shows it!!!”
