First Neil Young & Promise Of The Real FM Recording Surfaces

On July 16 Neil Young and Promise Of The Real played Piazza Napoleone in Lucca, Italy. The show featured many highlights including Willie Nelson sitting-in with a band that includes two of his sons, Lukas & Micah Nelson. It was part of a tour that is among the best in Young’s 50+ year career. A portion of the show was broadcast on Italian national radio and that portion can be downloaded in MP3 or FLAC formats.

The 68-minute portion of Neil & POTR’s show that Young allowed to be broadcast live marks the first FM recording of the band. Unfortunately, the DJs talk way too much throughout the broadcast which hurts the value of the recording. But for now, until we have a real Neil Young & Promise Of The Real live album and/or official recording, this is the crispiest document of the band we have.
