First Aid Kit Joins Ryan Adams At Red Rocks

The much publicized Ryan Adams concert at Red Rocks took place Thursday night at the historic venue near Denver. The evening began with a set by openers First Aid Kit, who later joined Adams and The Unknown Band during their headlining performance.
Adams preceded his appearance last night by recording new songs for a local radio station and television outlet, as well as delivering the weather forecast for the latter. The last tour date currently scheduled for Adams began with “Let It Ride.” He and his band mates proceeded through a set pulling from throughout the singer-songwriter’s career, including several selections from his 2017 album Prisoner.
First Aid Kit co-founding sisters Klara Söderberg and Johanna Söderberg accompanied Adams and his band on “Oh My Sweet Carolina.” They returned at the close of the show to add vocals to “Come Pick Me Up.” The night drew to an end with a solo acoustic offering of “Jacksonville Skyline.” Prior to playing the song from Adams’ time with Whiskeytown, the guitarist thanked the audience and discussed the impact the death of his brother last year had on his ability to perform live, dedicating the finale to his late sibling.
