Femi Kuti Announces North American Summer Tour 2022

Femi Kuti confirmed details of tour dates across North America this summer. Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti’s eldest son will hit the road with the 12-piece The Positive Force ensemble from June 9 to July 17 in support of his Grammy-nominated 2021 album, Legacy +.

The project kicks off the tour at Wall Street Theater in Norwalk, Connecticut on June 9. Next up are stops in New York City on June 10, Baltimore on June 11, Denver on June 15, Lawrence (Kansas) on June 16 and St. Louis on June 17. Appearances at Bonnaroo on June 18 and Electric Forest on June 24 will be split by a concert in Minneapolis on June 22.

Femi Kuti & The Positive Force’s California swing includes shows in Los Angeles on June 26, Solana Beach on June 28, San Luis Obispo on June 29, Menlo Park on June 30, San Francisco on July 1 and Quincy (High Sierra Music Festival) on July 2. It’s then off to the Pacific Northwest for concerts in Seattle on July 6 and Courtenay, British Columbia on July 8. Additional dates come in Toronto on July 10, Cambridge (Massachusetts) on July 13, Washington D.C. on July 14, Wilmington (Delaware) on July 15, Philadelphia on July 16 and Hammondsport (New York) on July 17.
