Exclusive Premiere | Pimps Of Joytime – Dank Janky

On April 7 JamBase favorites Pimps Of Joytime will release their third studio album –Jukestone Paradise. The quintet show off the breadth of their influences to create an original sound all their own over the course of 10 new songs. Jukestone Paradise includes guest appearances from New Orleans legend Ivan Neville and Rubblebucket’s Alex Toth.

Today, we’re pleased to premiere one of our favorite songs off the new release. “Dank Janky” is the kind of genre-defying track we’ve come to expect from Pimps Of Joytime. “We took a little blues and put a groove thing on it. ‘Dank Janky’ is a mythical vagabond who’s got magical funk powers,” Pimps Of Joytime tell us about the song.

Jukestone Paradise is a culmination of recording and touring for the past two years tallying over 100 shows per year including slots at major festivals like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and High Sierra. “Jukestone Paradise is the most focused and evolved piece of work we’ve done to date, both musically and sonically,” Pimps mastermind Brian J. explained. The album was recorded at Vibromonk Studios and Brian J’s studio in Brooklyn between their heavy touring schedules.
