Exclusive Premiere: The Mother Hips Share ‘End Of The Chorus’ Video
California-based rockers The Mother Hips are celebrating 25 years together and today issued a new studio album Chorus on Blue Rose Music. JamBase is pleased to exclusively premiere an official live video for the album’s single “End Of The Chorus.”
The Mother Hips’ first studio release of new material in five years, Chorus was recorded in Oakland with producer Karl Derfler. The record features co-founding guitarists Tim Bluhm and Greg Loiacono, drummer John Hofer and guest bassist Jackie Greene. The album is The Hips’ first release following Bluhm’s nearly fatal speed flying accident and includes lyrics written while confined to a hospital bed during a lengthy recovery process.
“The Mother Hips have lots of rock songs about rock,” said Bluhm regarding “End Of The Chorus,” one of 10 songs on the album. “This is the most updated version. It takes a look at the pratfalls of leadership, the sacrifices one has to be willing to make to pursue a vision, and the universal allure of success, all put into a sort of sad, sort of hopeful break-up song.”
