Dweezil Zappa Expands 50 Years Of Frank Tour

Guitarist Dweezil Zappa has confirmed a number of additional shows as part of his ongoing Dweezil Zappa: 50 Years Of Frank Tour. Several of the stops will offer the opportunity to participate in a guitar masterclass with Dweezil.

Dweezil and his band composed of saxophonist/keyboardist Scheila Gonzales, bassist Kurt Morgan, drummer Ryan Brown, keyboardist Chris Norton, guitarist/horn player Dave Luther and vocalist Cian Coey added a batch of shows on the East Coast beginning on July 28 in Poughkeepsie, New York. The swing continues with concerts in Westhampton Beach, New York and Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, followed by Ridgefield, Connecticut and Morristown, New Jersey. Zappa and his band also added shows in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania along with Northampton, Massachusetts and Baltimore, Maryland.

On August 8 the 50 Years Of Frank Tour heads to Colorado for a show at Arvada Center For the Arts in Arvada. The next night they’ll perform at the Belly Up in Aspen and on August 10 they’ll be at Community Concert hall in Durango. The tour will also make a stop in Flagstaff, Arizona on August 11 at the Orpheum Theater. Dweezil will host guitar masterclasses in Hampton Beach, Ridgefield, Morristown, Wilkes-Barre, Northampton, Baltimore and Flagstaff. Zappa also added a batch of European tour dates in October.

Dweezil Zappa recently announced the What’s In A Name? storytelling tour. His first series of spoken word concerts will feature the guitarist telling stories, answering questions from the audience and discussing his late father Frank Zappa’s legendary career, all with musical accompaniment.
