The Disco Biscuits long-awaited ninth studio album Revolution In Motion will be released on March 29. The band issued, Revolution in Motion, Pt. 1, the first of four parts comprising the album, which arrived accompanied by a comic book-style animated film by 3D creators Blunt Action.
Revolution in Motion, Pt. 1 features four previously released singles, “Shocked!,” “Twisted In The Road,” “The Wormhole” and “Another Plan Of Attack.” The tracks are part of a fan-deemed “Space Opera” story.

Work on the album began in August 2021 when the Disco Biscuits guitarist Jon Gutwillig and collaborator Joey Friedman conceptualized the space opera, which they described as “music aliens would love.” Bisco keyboardist Aron Magner was brought into the creative process in early 2022 and over the year the band debuted 14 tracks live soon after they were completed.
“The underlying theme is ‘Another Plan of Attack,’” said Jon “Barber” Gutwillig. “Sometimes in life things are going one way when something very unexpected happens and presents an opportunity. You can turn the other way and continue doing what you were before, or you can lean into this opportunity and achieve things you never thought were possible.”
The Disco Biscuits’ last full-length studio album of original music was 2011’s Otherwise Law Abiding Citizens. The quartet rounded out by bassist Marc Brownstein and drummer Allen Aucoin surprised released their first live album on December 25, 2023.

“The Disco Biscuits are a band with so much potential,” added Joey Friedman, “they just had to go to outer space to reach it.”
Soundtracked by a seven-minute medley of the four songs making up the first part of Revolution In Motion, the animated video introduces “viewers to the world of Polyfuzia, Fuzzies, Space Trains, royal family drama, and the inevitable Freeze of Times Square to come.” Watch Revolution in Motion, Pt. 1 below:
