Disco Biscuits Debut After Midnight Cover In Denver

The quartet opened the show with a funky rendition of “7-11” similar to ones the band has performed under the Perfume moniker. “7-11” segued into “Rainbow Song” which was followed by the year’s first “Neck Romancer” as well as staples “Home Again,” “The Overture” and “42.” Set Two was one continuous sequence of music that both started and ended with “Kamaole Sands.” Inverted versions of “Above The Waves” and “Confrontation” were featured in the second set along with the debut cover of JJ Cale’s “After Midnight,” which fan reports indicate was performed similar to the Jerry Garcia Band renditions of the late ’70s and early ’80s. A “Rockafella” encore brought the evening to a close.
The Disco Biscuits return to Denver’s Ogden Theatre tonight. A webcast is available via TourGigs. Yesterday, AURA Festival organizers shared pro-shot video of tDB’s “House Dog Party Favor” from this year’s event. Take a look:
