Destroyer, the project led by Dan Bejar, announced a new album, Dan’s Boogie, set for release on March 28 via Merge Records. Bejar also shared the single/music video, “Bologna,” featuring Fiver (Simone Schmidt).

Dan’s Boogie marks Destroyer’s first studio album in three years since 2022’s Labyrinthitis. The new LP “is a breakthrough album for Destroyer, with songs across the vast spectrum he and his collaborators have established for themselves: spectacle-laden pop epics, personal piano ballads, and smouldering works of mood that blur the lines between song and novel and cinema, each brimming with the urgency of a state secret in the mind of a tortured spy,” as per a press release.

Previewing Dan’s Boogie is “Bologna,” featuring Fiver’s Simone Schmidt.

“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” Bejar stated. “I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.”

Dan’s Boogie sees the light of day just after Bejar completes a tour supporting Father John Misty in a stripped-down Destroyer format. Scroll down for Destroyer’s itinerary and ticket info.
