Dead & Company will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead by headlining concerts in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 1 – 3. The band officially confirmed their participation today, one week after San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie revealed plans were in the works for the shows.

One thing Lurie didn’t mention was the other artists on the bill. The concerts will start with 75-minute sets from Billy Strings on Friday, August 1; Sturgill “Johnny Blue Skies” Simpson on Saturday, August 2 and Trey Anastasio Band on Sunday, August 3.

Formed in San Francisco back in 1965, the Grateful Dead had an illustrious 30-year career before guitarist Jerry Garcia's tragic 1995 death. Garcia’s bandmates Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann started Dead & Co. in 2015 with guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. Kreutzmann left the band in 2023 with Jay Lane taking his place behind the kit.

Dead & Company recently completed an 18-date Dead Forever 2025 residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. The San Francisco shows are the only concerts currently on the books for the band.

Three-day tickets for the celebratory event will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. PT. Sign up via Seated to receive a password for an Artist Presale set to begin on Wednesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. PT. Single-Day ticket details are to be announced “soon.”
