Taylor Goldsmith & Mandy Moore Cover John Prine

Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and his wife, Mandy Moore performed a set broadcast live on Instagram yesterday, Sunday, April 12. The pair a handful of John Prine covers as part of the session, which also included Dawes originals and tunes by other artists.
Taylor and Mandy sang John Prine’s “Long Monday,” a song Prine recorded for his 2005 studio album, Fair & Square. Moore provided harmony vocals on “Long Monday” and dueted with her husband on “Unwed Fathers” from John Prine’s 1984 LP, Aimless Love. The pair also performed “Sam Stone,” which Taylor described as “a real heartbreaker.” John Prine included “Sam Stone” on his self-titled debut studio album in 1971.
