David Gilmour Covers Leonard Cohen’s ‘Bird On The Wire’ For ‘Von Trapped Family’ Livestream Series

David Gilmour shared a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Bird On The Wire.” The acoustic performance came during an episode of the Pink Floyd guitarist’s Von Trapped Family livestream series which took place on May 29, 2020.

Gilmour has shared a number of covers in 2021 from Von Trapped Family including the Yusuf/Cat Stevens-popularized “Morning Has Broken” and Syd Barrett’s “Dominoes.” Gilmour’s version of “Bird On The Wire” features his daughter Romany Gilmour on harp. The father-daughter duo also covered Cohen’s “If It Be Your Will” for Von Trapped Family. One of Leonard Cohen’s signature songs, “Bird On The Wire” appears on the poet and singer-songwriter’s 1969 album, Songs From A Room.
