Renowned singer-songwriter David Crosby will issue a new album Sky Trails on September 29 via BMG. The lead single and title track from the forthcoming record has been officially shared.

Crosby’s third solo album in the past three years, Sky Trails follows-up 2014’s Croz and last year’s Lighthouse. The 10-track album includes songwriting contributions from and Crosby’s son James Raymond, Michael McDonald, Mai Egan and Becca Stevens. The record features a jazzy cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Amelia,” which Crosby explained to Billboard:

It’s sort of a built-in thing with me. I listen to a lot of jazz. I listen to a lot of Steely Dan. I really like Weather Report, I really like Miles [Davis], really like ‘Trane [John Coltrane]. I’ve listened to a ton of different jazz artists over the years, so I’m tilted in that direction. The music’s really different; It’s more sophisticated, but if you let that tilt your singer-songwriter music, it just makes it more interesting singer-songwriter music to me.

Crosby will tour later this year in support of Sky Trails with a supporting band made up of Raymond on keys, Egan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals.
