Dave Matthews was among the artists who took part in the 10th annual Apollo In The Hamptons benefit concert in East Hampton, New York on Saturday night. Matthews was backed by house band The Roots and teamed with other musicians who performed at the benefit such as Maggie Rogers, Vusi Mahlasela and Jon Bon Jovi.

Dave and The Roots performed “Everyday” with help from Mahlasela and then Matthews led Questlove and company through a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer.” Rogers added to Dave Matthews and The Roots’ rendition of “Come Tomorrow.” Later in the evening, Matthews showed off his dancing skills as part of a cover of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” featuring most of the show’s performers including Jon Bon Jovi. Dave also was among the musicians backing Jon Bon Jovi on the Bon Jovi classic “Livin’ On A Prayer.”

The benefit was held at the home of the Apollo Theater Vice Chairman Ron Perelman. Proceeds went “to support the Apollo’s artistic, educational, and outreach programs, while building on the Theater’s rich history as a cultural and economic anchor to Harlem, and as a nurturer of emerging talent.” Approximately $30 million has been raised at the events, of which this year’s is expected to be the last hosted by Perelman.
