Dave Matthews, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris & Patty Griffin Honor Tom Petty In Seattle

The Moore Theatre in Seattle hosted the first night of the Lampedusa: Concerts for Refugees Tour featuring Dave Matthews, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. The singer-songwriters collaborated on a cover honoring Tom Petty as part of the charity event supporting Jesuit Refugee Service’s Global Education Initiative.

Matthews, Earle, Harris and Griffin worked up a joint cover of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ hit “Refugee.” The musicians traded lead vocal duties on the verses to the classic off of the 1979 LP Damn The Torpedoes.
