Dave Matthews & Preservation Hall Jazz Band Perform ‘That Girl Is You’ For ‘Round Midnight Preserves’ Livestream

Dave Matthews Band frontman Dave Matthews teamed up with old pals the Preservation Hall Jazz Band for a performance during the latter’s recent Round Midnight Preserves livestream special. Matthews and Pres Hall recorded a version of “The Girl Is You,” a song DMB originally released on their 2018 album Come Tomorrow.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band are no strangers to the song, having sat-in with DMB on a handful of live performances. Dave Matthews Band welcomed members of Pres Hall for “That Girl Is You” at The Gorge in 2018 and then in their hometown of Charlottesville that December. Additionally, the New Orleans based ensemble joined DMB for the song during the latter’s Jazz Fest set on May 4, 2019.

Dave Matthews and Preservation Hall Jazz Band recorded “That Girl Is You” for Round Midnight independently in keeping with social distancing guidelines. Watch the quarantine video below:
