The Dave Matthews Band just completed their third and final show of a short swing through South Africa, the country where Dave was born. For their performance at Johannesburg’s Coca-Cola Dome they were joined by a pair of legendary South African musicians.

South African singer-songwriter Vusi Mahlasela, who opened shows on the run, came out for a rendition of the title track of 2001’s Everyday. Later in the set, trumpeter Hugh Masekela emerged for takes on “Proudest Monkey” and “Grazing In The Grass.” The latter was a DMB debut of a tune associated with Masekela, though they worked teases of the song into two versions of “Warehouse” in 2007. Matthews and his band also reprised their version of “Sugar Man” by Rodriguez during the encore.
