St. Vincent Crashes Dave Matthews Band’s RiverBeat Set In Memphis

Dave Matthews Band welcomed fellow RiverBeat Music Festival performer St. Vincent (Annie Clark) during their set at the event in Memphis on Sunday night. The performance at Tom Lee Park marked DMB’s first since closing out their 2025 Summer Tour with three nights at The Gorge in Washington state.

St. Vincent took the event’s main Orion Financial Stage for a 75-minute performance before DMB closed out the festival. Dave Matthews Band turned their 2026 debut into a greatest hits set. Beloved favorites “Ants Marching,” “Some Much To Say,” “Too Much,” “Crash Into Me,” “I Did It,” “The Space Between,” “Why I Am,” “#41” and “Don’t Drink The Water” each made the 14-song setlist.

Annie Clark returned to the stage towards the end of DMB’s set. The St. Vincent frontman initially joined the headliners for a joint performance of “Spoon,” the final song on the iconic 1998 Dave Matthews Band album Before These Crowded Streets.

Dave Matthews Band and Annie Clark followed with a high-energy cover of “Burning Down The House.” The Talking Heads classic was first performed by DMB in 2008. The song had regular stints in the rotation for a decade before disappearing. Dave Matthews Band played the song at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the only other version besides last night since December 15, 2018.

Clark and Dave Matthews shared lead vocal duties on “Burning Down The House.” St. Vincent is no stranger to the song having performed it regularly with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne during their 2012 – 2013 Love This Giant Tour.
