Dave Matthews Band dusted off “Old Dirt Hill (Bring That Beat Back)” during their Tuesday night concert at Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi. The last full-band performance of the song from DMB’s 2005 studio album Stand Up came on September 8, 2018.
The septet opened the fourth show of their current tour with an expansive “Seek Up.” DMB then played “Warehouse,” which along with “Madman’s Eyes” and “Grey Street” have been performed at each night this run. Oldie “Grace Is Gone” followed “Warehouse” along with the recently revived “Break For It” and beloved “Tripping Billies.” Next up was the return of “Old Dirt Hill (Bring That Beat Back).”
DMB continued on with the aforementioned “Madman’s Eyes” and a +12-minute “Jimi Thing.” The group then looked to 2001’s Everyday for “When The World Ends” and offered the tour’s second “Walk Around The Moon” ahead of their nightly take on “Grey Street.” From there, the group followed rarity “Break Free” with live staples “Funny The Way It Is,” “What Would You Say,” “Crush” and “Don’t Drink The Water.” Last night’s main set ended with the pairing of “You & Me” and the tour’s first “Two Step.”
The encore in Brandon got underway with “The Space Between.” Dave Matthews then teased “Kill The Preacher” before DMB said farewell with Big Whiskey And The GrooGrux King standout “Why I Am.”
