Van Halen’s “Jump” is the focus on Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and producer/musician Greg Kurstin’s fourth The Hanukkah Sessions video. The series honors Jewish musicians with a new cover released for all eight nights of the Festival of Lights.

“Jump” was originally released by Van Halen on their 1984 studio album. Kurstin recreated the song’s signature synth line on an Oberheim while Grohl handled lead vocals and drumming.

“Quite possibly the loudest and proudest of hard rocking Jews, David Lee Roth has gone on record crediting his Bar Mitzvah preparation as his earliest vocal training,” wrote the pair in a vote accompanying the “Jump” video. “He became a rockstar the day he became a man: Diamond Dreidel DLR and Van Halen…with ‘Jump.'”
