Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin Close ‘Hanukkah Sessions’ With Star-Studded ‘I Love L.A.’

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and producer/keyboardist Greg Kurstin wrapped their 2022 “The Hanukkah Sessions” video series with a cover of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” Grohl and Kurstin were accompanied by many of the musicians who contributed to this year’s edition, which was filmed live at Largo in Los Angeles on December 5.

The ode to the City of Angels was originally released by Newman in 1983. “I Love L.A.” features references to regions, streets and sights within Los Angeles. The eighth and final night of Hanukkah aligned with Christmas this year. “Merry Christmukkah! Our nondenominational gift to you on this convergence of holiday cheer for the Jews and the goyim is Randy Newman’s classic ‘I Love L.A.’ — sung by Dave Grohl!” a note accompanying the video read.
