Darlene Love continued her traditional late-night television holiday season performance of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The acclaimed vocalist was once again joined by Paul Shaffer and Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul, led by E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt,
Love started her annual “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” performances on David Letterman’s late-night talk shows in 1986 and continued through 2014. The run ended when Letterman stepped away from hosting duties in 2015. Shaffer was the bandleader for Letterman’s late-night talk shows and accompanied Love’s appearances.
The tradition was revived last year when Love brought the holiday classic to The Tonight Show. Love tagged the end of the episode with another seasonal song, “All Alone On Christmas.”
