The Dap-Kings & The Roots To Honor Sharon Jones On ‘The Tonight Show’

Late vocalist Sharon Jones will be honored with a special tribute performance on an upcoming episode The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The program’s house band The Roots will team with Jones’ longtime collaborators The Dap-Kings on the Friday, November 17 edition of the late night talk show.
Jones passed away last year at the age of 60 following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. The tribute on Friday coincides with the release of Jones’ first posthumous album, Soul Of A Woman. The Dap-Kings bassist Bosco Mann produced the 11-track album which was recorded at Daptone Records’ House Of Soul studio in Brooklyn prior to the beloved singer’s untimely death.
Members of The Roots will join The Dap-Kings at 30 Rock to perform a song from the album. Tune into NBC on Friday at 10:30 p.m. CT/11:30 p.m. ET and stream the LP’s opening track “Matter Of Time” below:
