JamBase favorites Railroad Earth are in the middle of a Winter Tour that brought them to Colorado this past weekend for a three-night stand at Denver’s Ogden Theatre. Saturday night’s finale included a scorching rendition of a Traffic classic they had never performed before.

Towards the end of Saturday’s second set, the jamgrass act lit into Traffic’s “Glad” for the first time ever. The John Barleycorn Must Die instrumental, penned by Steve Winwood, was right in Railroad Earth’s wheelhouse. An audience recording of the entire show, taped by Dave McKearney, is available via Archive.org. Head to track 15 to hear RRE’s rendition of “Glad”:
Tonight, Railroad Earth performs at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.
