Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe recently completed a three-show run at Brooklyn Bowl in NYC with each performance featuring special guests and themes. Saturday’s finale was classic rock night at the Bowl with special guests Chuck Leavell, Roosevelt Collier and Brandon “Taz” Niederauer.

KDTU focused heavily on classic rock covers throughout the course of the evening with Traffic’s “Glad,” The Rolling Stones’ “Jumping Jack Flash,” “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin'” and “Tumbling Dice” as well as Jimi Hendrix’s “Power Of Soul” among the tunes performed. Leavell’s current gig is as musical director of The Rolling Stones, a group Denson joined for their most recent tour. The ensemble also played a pair of tunes best associated with The Allman Brothers Band, a group Leavell was a member of between 1972 and 1976 -“Statesboro Blues” & “Whipping Post” -with the young Niederauer joining in on the latter.
